ROAM Portal
The ROAM Portal is the presentation layer (desktop) the user is presented showing all the applications they are authorized to use. Delivered through a Web browser, the ROAM Portal includes the organization's branding and makes applications securely accessible from any location at any time, using any popular browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari) opened on any popular operating system (e.g., Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows, Linux). ROAM aggregates applications, information and links into the ROAM Portal based on the user's role, as assigned by IT Management. This includes the organization's branding, internal news channels, an embedded security agent, client/server and legacy applications, Web applications, reports, email, and reference links – all on a personalized portal. The ROAM Portal is dynamic – when a new role is assigned to the user's profile (e.g. to provide access to a medical imaging system in a hospital), the corresponding link will be available on the Portal the next time the user logs-in or refreshes their portal within the session. Access to the ROAM Portal is controlled by the ROAM Identity Manager; content is delivered using the Integration Tools; and secure access is provided through the Security Framework. |
