The ROAM Administration Console is a one stop shop for administration of ROAM solutions. Through this console managers can control who can access solutions, when they can access them and what they need to do to access them. All the ROAM components are administered through this single console thereby reducing the overall administration costs and time required to deliver new solutions and register new users.
The ROAM Desktop is a client level presentation layer for all ROAM solutions. Delivered through a Web browser, the ROAM desktop enables all ROAM solutions to be accessed from any location at any time, provided the user has access to the Internet. A powerful Web-based desktop, ROAM comes with standard features for improving user productivity and delivering current information.
The ROAM Desktop is presented in the user's web browser and is comprised of a number of tabs and channels that contain the links into the applications and systems that are in the corporate network. After a user has issued credentials and has been successfully authenticated by the ROAM Identity Manager, the Embedded Security Agent loads and the user is presented with a personal ROAM Desktop that provides a single, secure and integrated portal for accessing the various applications, legacy systems, file servers, etc, that the user is authorized to access based on the role that has been assigned to the user.
Some tabs and channels may contain content (e.g. News Channel, corporate intranet web-site). The ROAM Desktop is dynamic, meaning that when a new role is assigned to the user's profile (e.g. to provide access to a medical imaging system in the hospital), the corresponding link will be available on the Desktop the next time the user logs in or refreshes their desktop within the portal session.
The ROAM desktop, is able to deliver any solution to any device with a web browser providing customers a great deal of flexibility. As a powerful web-based desktop it comes with standard features for increasing user productivity and delivering information.
Recognizing that data is not information, AnyWare Group has built in the ROAM engines to provide administrators with the ability to actively manage “who” is accessing their solutions and “how” they are using them. Consisting of reporting, notification, charting and survey engine modules, this component is a one stop .solution for understanding what is happening with any solution. The reporting engine provides the details of the user's access activity. The notification engine allows administrators to set-up custom notifications on any event in their system. For instance, an administrator may want to know when a partner or vendor is accessing a system. The charting engine allows administrators to chart the activity of the users visually over a given time period. This is very powerful for understanding trends and for planning purposes. The survey engine is ideal for gathering feedback on user's experiences and future requirements.
ROAM Services offer a number of features that help to augment the user's experience. These include compatibility checker, AssistMeAnyWare, MyPCAnyWare and ROAM Conferencing. ROAM Compatibility Checker captures PC configuration details which can be emailed to the IT Support/Help Desk representative to help troubleshoot ROAM access issues. ROAM's AssistMeAnyWare feature provides fast, easy and secure remote-support services, resulting in a better customer experience. ROAM's MyPCAnyWare allows users to connect to a remote PC within their network from anywhere. ROAM Conferencing provides a secure way to collaborate applications with others.
Recognizing all organizations have existing systems and data in place today, it rarely makes sense to replace the existing systems and build a new comparable solution. The ROAM integration tools allow customers to maximize their existing investments. The integration tools allow solutions built upon the ROAM platform to pull information from existing systems or to integrate existing systems within the new solution. This powerful tool set has been used with legacy mainframe systems, client server systems and web-based applications.
Knowing, managing and controlling a user's identity and their access is a major challenge in delivering information solutions. ROAM provides customers with the ability to fully manage a user's identity across multiple solutions and organizations. Using rules, customers can control access to a variety of solutions with a click of a button. The ROAM identity manager can be integrated into existing solutions such as active directory or other directory based structures. ROAM Identity Manager centralizes security policies so that there is one point of security control for the organization's computing resources. This allows for central auditing and reporting of all system access activity.
The ROAM security framework is a set of tools that enables the appropriate precautions to be taken for each solution. AnyWare Group recognizes that each solution will have its own security requirements as dictated by its use and the information that users need to access.
It is important that every organization that implements ROAM be able to configure a security solution that suits their particular requirements. The ROAM security framework provides this capability by configuring and assigning roles that control what content the user sees, what devices can access the solution and from what location users may access the solution.
The ROAM security framework is able to complement existing systems, applications and storage solutions already in place and deliver them where and when needed.
The ROAM security framework provides a complete security solution for customers with no existing solution.
