Peter Clark, joined GrowthWorks Atlantic Ltd. in 2006 as the Regional Investment Manager for New Brunswick. Peter brings a depth of experience in financial planning and analysis as well as Corporate Development, having held several senior positions in large companies throughout Canada and the United States.
Peter is using his knowledge of managing investments, acquiring companies, establishing joint ventures to liaise with the business community in New Brunswick and to help GrowthWorks Atlantic Venture Fund expand its business throughout the Atlantic provinces.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He is also Chair of the Board of the Fredericton Community Foundation.
Mr. Haynes is the COO of Coreworx Inc. (www.coreworxinc.com ), which is a subsidiary of Acorn Energy, Inc.,(NASDAQ: ACFN). Coreworx is a fast-growing software solutions firm specializing in document control and workflow management for mega capital construction projects in the energy industry. Prior to joining Coreworx, J was a Managing Partner at Omazo Ventures, which focuses on developing early stage software firms in the enterprise B2B segment. Before Omazo, J led Medshare through rapid growth, which included financing, team building and strategic growth planning. He was previously President & CEO of ECM vendor, EVER America Corporation, which was acquired by Versa in February, 2006.
A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Haynes founded his first venture in 1988 which grew into one of Canada's largest local government software suppliers. Through the course of its growth, it won many awards including Deloitte's Fast 55. Always maintaining a balance between technical and sales and marketing strategy, Mr. Haynes successfully evolved his organization and raised multiple rounds of venture capital as well as orchestrating several M&A transactions, including taking a division public on the TSX Venture Exchange.
In the past five years, Mr. Haynes has presented at numerous industry conferences in North America and abroad on topics ranging from customer/citizen service to enterprise content management. Mr. Haynes holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Engineering from the University of Guelph and is a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
Thomas J. Hayes is President & CEO of GrowthWorks Atlantic Ltd. Tom brings managerial and senior executive experience in the private, public, and volunteer sectors to GrowthWorks. Prior to an affiliate of GrowthWorks Capital taking over the management of the GrowthWorks Canadian Fund (formerly Working Ventures Canadian Fund) and the GrowthWorks Opportunity Fund (formerly the Working Ventures Opportunity Fund) (together the “GrowthWorks WV Funds”) in 2002, Tom was Vice President of Investments of those funds.
From 1982 to 1987, Tom served as Vice-President and then President of Atlantic Venture Trust, an institutional private venture capital fund for Atlantic Canada. As CEO of Atlantic Fish Specialties Ltd. from 1987 to 1997, Tom led the company through a major restructuring and turnaround resulting in the company being recognized as the top small business in Canada, winning the prestigious Canada Award of Business Excellence. Tom has also been awarded the Atlantic Canada Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the “Turnaround” category.
Tom has also served as Chief of Staff for the Office of the Premier in Nova Scotia and has been awarded an Atlantic Canada Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He has thirty-nine years of business and management experience and is a past Chair of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC).
John joined BDC Venture Capital in January 1997. He has over twenty one years of investment management experience with early stage technology companies. From 1987 to 1997, John held progressively senior investment management positions at Innovation Ontario Corporation, a venture capital firm involved in early stage technology investments. In that role, he worked closely with the board and management of over thirty early-stage technology companies. From 1981 to 1986, John was an investment manager with the Ontario Energy Corporation, which invested in a variety of oil, gas, and energy-related technology companies. John Kemp-Welch holds Bachelor degrees in both Economics and Geography from McMaster University.
Robert Lalonde is Chief Executive Officer of AnyWare Group. With a strong track record of driving sales growth in high technology companies, Mr. Lalonde is responsible for directing the strategic vision of the company as well as establishing growth strategies for AnyWare Group's portfolio of powerful remote access solutions including ROAM (Role Oriented Access Management) which is now implemented in 80 hospitals throughout North America.
Over more than 20 years, Mr. Lalonde has demonstrated strong execution skills, a proven ability to lead companies through high-growth periods and a track record for driving shareholder value at technology companies, including Hummingbird Communications, Delano Technology, Fusepoint Managed Services and Pano Logic.
Rob has a multi-discipline background including sales, marketing, product strategy and corporate development functions. He has completed MBA studies at York University's Schulich School of Business, holds a degree in computer science from Laurentian University, and has studied finance, mergers and acquisitions at Harvard.
Mr. Parent was one of the original founders of the company in 2000 and is currently serving his third appointment as director after a 5 year absence from the board. He has spent his entire 16 year career in the Information Technology sector, across a variety of industries. Most of Yves' career has been spent in the telecommunications sector but he has also spent time in manufacturing and health care. As one of the original founders, he was AnyWare Group's first Vice President of Finance and instrumental in taking the company to over 3 million dollars in revenue, achieving profitability in its first year of existence. Having spent years employed at AnyWare Group, Yves now advises the company on technical and financial matters.
Yves has a mix of corporate work experience and entrepreneurship, having founded three other ventures, the first of which launched in 1994 and the most recent of which is now the main object of his focus.
Mr. Parent holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and is a registered member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.
John is President of Swan & Associates Inc,. a consulting group specializing in marketing and technology solutions as well as organization turn-around and re-engineering. He was also a founding member of the Exigen Group, headquartered in San Francisco where he was responsible for global partnerships and account development.
His experience covers a career of 30 years of marketing and Information Technology management in the technology, telecommunications, and petroleum consumer industries. Before developing Swan & Associates Inc., John held CIO and executive management positions in Irving Oil Ltd., a privately owned, multibillion-dollar Canadian petroleum refiner and marketer. His responsibilities included overseeing information technology and corporate re-engineering projects for operations, as well as managing the US subsidiary, Irving Oil Corporation. Prior to that, John was actively involved in the development of a very successful application service provider (ASP) business catering to the legal, insurance, and financial services for the New Brunswick Telephone Company.
John has been a board member of Anyware Group since 2004.
