William H. Steeves,
Chairman of the Board

Mr. Steeves joined NBTel Inc. in 1963 and held numerous positions in the areas of financial planning and business information systems. During this period he took a leave of absence to act as a financial consultant to the Department of Treasury Board, Province of New Brunswick. In 1987 he was appointed Vice-President corporate services and human resources. In 1995, he assumed the additional role of chief financial officer for the Bruncor Corporation, the holding company for NBTel and several related corporations. He was active in the merger of the four Atlantic Telcos in 1999 and following the merger, was appointed vice-president of Integration for Aliant, the newly formed company. After successfully developing and implementing the plan to achieve eighty five million dollars in savings from the merger, he retired from Aliant in July 1999.

Mr. Steeves is past president of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and of the Society of Management Accountants in New Brunswick, as well as the past chairman of the Atlantic Regional Committee for the same organization. He has been active in the community and is a past chairman of the Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation’s Board of Trustees and past president of the New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation.

He is currently chairman of Anyware Group Inc., as well as a director of Medavie Inc. Atlantic Real Estate Services Inc. and EPC Industries Ltd., as well as an officer in his church. He is a past chairman of Datacor Atlantic, and a past director of NBTel Interactive Inc., Maritime Information Technologies Inc., ASG Technologies Inc. and several Bruncor real estate ventures.

Mr. Steeves has a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in accounting from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Additionally, he is a Certified Management Accountant and a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada.

Gerry Verner,
Chief Executive Officer

Gerry joined AnyWare Group in 2002 as CEO, bringing more than 17 years of Telecom and IT experience to the company. Gerry has extensive experience in marketing, business development and finance in the IT industry.

During a 12 year career with NBTel, Gerry was instrumental in developing the business plan and strategy for the rollout of broadband services throughout New Brunswick. As one of the original members of iMagicTV, a leading edge global broadband video software company, Gerry served as its Vice President, Marketing and Finance, and Vice President Marketing and Business Development. During that time, Gerry led the company through three stages of financing bringing in over $50 million from venture capital and strategic investors including Celtic House International, WhiteCap Venture Partners, Newbridge Networks, Alcatel, AOL and Cisco Systems. Gerry also led the company through a NASDAQ/TSE IPO raising an additional $75 million for the company.

Most recently, Gerry was President and Chief Operating Officer of CyberSecure Inc. Gerry holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the University of New Brunswick. Gerry also holds a technology patent for a television set top box.

John Swan,
VP Business Development, Exigen Group

John is a founding member of the Exigen Group, headquartered in Saint John, NB and has been a director of Anyware Group since 2005. His experience covers a career of 29 years of marketing and Information Technology management experience in the communications and petroleum industries.

Before developing a successful technology and customer-relationship consulting business in New Brunswick, John held executive management positions in Irving Oil Ltd., a privately owned, multi-billion dollar Canadian petroleum refiner and marketer. His responsibilities included overseeing information technology and corporate re-engineering projects for operations, as well as managing the US subsidiary , Irving Oil Corporation.

Prior to that, John was actively involved in the development of a very successful application service provider (ASP) business catering to the legal, insurance, and financial services for the New Brunswick Telephone Company. John was also a founding member of the National Systems Group of Telecom Canada.

Tony Van Bommel,
Director, BDC Venture Capital

Tony holds the position of Director for BDC Venture Capital in the Halifax office. He is responsible for investing and managing venture capital investments in Atlantic Canada for the BDC Main Fund. Prior to joining BDC, he spent 4 years as Senior Investment Manager with InNOVAcorp, a General Partner for the Nova Scotia First Fund, an early stage knowledge-based venture fund. Before joining InNOVAcorp, he worked 9 years as lawyer and Partner in the business law firm Little & Wright in London, Ontario. Tony has held multiple directorships in both public and private emerging growth companies in the Atlantic region and is currently on the board of directors of five high growth technology companies.

Tony earned the Dalhousie Governor General’s Gold Medal for the top graduate student chosen from all faculties at Dalhousie University and the gold medal from the Dalhousie University MBA program. He also received his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Western Ontario where he won the Pitney Bowes Award for the top graduating Law Student in Ontario who combined academics, athletics and service to the community. Tony currently holds board positions with AnyWare Group, Volunteer Chairman of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement for Nova Scotia and is a Rotarian.

Karen Greenrose,
President, AAPPO

As President of the American Association of Preferred Provider Organization (AAPPO), Ms. Greenrose is responsible for advancing the AAPPO mission and building a value proposition for the Association’s more than 400 members and prospective members across the U.S. Prior to joining the AAPPO in 1999, Ms. Greenrose was President of Preferred Plan, a non-risk PPO where she directed its initial start-up providing a strategic approach with many competitive advantages and benefits for the organization.

Ms. Greenrose has served as an officer of three national HMOs, assumed leadership roles in several successful start-ups, and aggressively managed positive financial turnarounds for a number of insurance companies. As Chairman and CEO of TakeCare's Indiana HMO, HealthPlus she was responsible for the sale and enrollment of the HMO's largest customer, General Electric. Her overall leadership of HealthPlus, including a positive financial turnaround within nine months of becoming CEO subsequently led to a profitable sale of the HMO. Ms. Greenrose also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions within the healthcare industry.

Ms. Greenrose graduated from Jefferson College, receiving her nursing degree in 1979.

David Wilson,
Vice President, Investments, GrowthWorks Atlantic Ltd

David Wilson is Vice President, Investments of GrowthWorks Atlantic Ltd., manager of the GrowthWorks Atlantic Venture Fund, one the GrowthWorks family of funds, investing in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada. GrowthWorks manages over $800 million in venture capital funds across Canada.

David has extensive venture capital experience in both Canada and the United States. Prior to his over ten years of managing equity investments in Atlantic Canada, David worked in Northern California as an associate with TA Associates, a Boston based private equity firm, and with Decision Focus Inc., an engineering consulting company.

He holds a BA with Honors in Engineering from Dartmouth College and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University. He is a past board member of the Canadian Venture Capital Association, and a recipient of the Helen Cooper Award for outstanding volunteer leadership to the United Way of Halifax Region.

Roger Chabra,
Investment Manager, GrowthWorks Capital

Roger Chabra is an Investment Manager at GrowthWorks Capital and is focused on information technology investments. GrowthWorks is a recognized leader in venture capital fund management with $800 million in assets.

Roger joined GrowthWorks in 2007, bringing over 12 years of technology, entrepreneurial and venture capital experience to the firm. Prior to joining GrowthWorks, Roger was part of the investment teams with another Canadian venture capital firm and with the venture investments group of Bell Mobility. Previously, he was the co-founder of a wireless company and worked in a variety of technology-focused roles with Rogers Wireless and CNC Global.

Roger holds an MBA (Dean’s Honour List) from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a BA from the University of Western Ontario.
